1990-08 國內第一個核醫資訊網路系統

民國79年8月本科與台北、林口長庚核醫科共同完成國內第一個核醫資訊網路系統(Nuclear Medicine Information System Network) ,處理核醫掃描病患之臨床資料、掃描報告以及其他核醫掃描相關之資料。
該項架構後續由曾凱元主任向國科會爭取計畫支持,建構了"建立初步核醫電腦網路之研究:局部PACS"的計畫 (NSC86-2314-B182A-072),林口長庚醫學中心核子醫學科改版報告系統增加格式化報告系統,使得本科報告進入標準化。
核醫界使用電腦作影像分析已有20年以上的歷史,愈來愈多的核醫影像皆經由與閃爍攝影機相連接的小型電腦收取。往往一個核醫科不止一部電腦,更常見的是一個核醫科有不同廠牌的影像分析電腦。每一組閃爍攝影機-電腦系統彼此互相獨立,電腦資源無法共享,彼此之間傳送影像資料便成為一個有待解決的問題。
在這個研究計畫裡, 我們將林口長庚醫院以及基隆長庚醫院核醫科兩個不同核醫影像廠商的6部電腦與我們原有用於行政工作的5部電腦以局部區域網路的方式連接起來。
目前,這兩家廠商的6部電腦各形成一個獨立的乙太網路,而另5部我們的電腦則以蘋果網路相聯。 我們以星狀網路的方式將這些電腦聯接起來。所有的結點都經由乙太網路方式連接在一個中心。這種方式的安裝比較簡便且可靠。在這個計畫中,我們完成一個迷你或部分的PACS。我們利用Interfile 3.3的軟體作影像的轉換之用。 這些影像在乙太網路上可以隨意傳送,然而,其原始資料則仍保留於原來的電腦系統當中。如此一來,核醫醫師可以決定用最合適的電腦來分析個別的影像。這個核醫電腦網路不只作研究用也用於例行之工作上。我們現70%的影像皆可經由這個網路互相交流。 這也成為我們架構另一大的區域網路的基礎,未來透過長途電話線路(或是網際網路)來解決傳輸遠距的核醫影像資料。
Computer has been used in image processing in nuclear medicine for more than 20 years. More and more images are acquired with the use of small, low-cost computers attached to each gamma camera. It is very common that a department of nuclear medicine will be equipped with more than one computer for scintigraphy. It is also very common to have cameras from different manufacturers in a department. Each camera-computer system became an isolated unit. Sharing of the resources is not possible. Transfer of nuclear medicine image files betweencomputer systems from different vendors became a problem. What we have done in this research project is connecting a collection of 6 image processing computers from two vendors and 5 computers for administrative work all located within a few thousand meters of each other to form a local area network (LAN). These two vendors had their own Ethernet network to connect the computers of their own. The other fivecomputers from our department are connected with Appletalk to form another small LAN. We connected all the computers using the Star topology. All nodes are connected to a hub via an Ethernet bus. It is easier to install and more reliable. We integrated all computer systems and incorporated products from 2 different nuclear medicine vendors on the same network. We finished a mini- or partial PACS in this first project. We used the software of Interfile version 3.3 for the exchange of nuclear medicine image data. While the files themselves are transferred between systems using Ethernet, the full raw digital data are preserved in their own system. This allowed the nuclear medicine physician to use the most appropriate software analysis on image data. This nuclear medicine network was to be oriented not only for research but clinical use. We found that 70% of these work could be accessed through the computers on this network. We planned to install a wide area network (WAN) in the next project which will interconnect LANs remote from each other across long-distance telephone lines to transfer studies.
